Week 3 (April 6-10)
Creative Prompt: Create a "Mood Portrait". Take a photo of your profile in to photoshop as well as a photo of a place you've been that symbolizes something you miss. This could be a landscape or a cityscape. I chose a landscape from a backpacking trip I did with friends last year at Ross Lake. The video below is a tutorial of how to layer two images in a silhouette with a layer mask and layer blending.
Week 2 (April 1 - April 7)
Creative Prompt: Create a poster that is funny, encouraging or educational about COVID 19! (Or about another topic if you're totally sick of thinking about COVID 19). Focus on the design principle CONTRAST. See the video below for explanation and examples of Contrast
Since we are not together in person, please feel free to ask any questions you might have in the comment area below. Positive comments are welcome too! ;-)
Week 1 (March 25-31)

Typography assignment 5: Creatively design an animal using the letters that spell the animal name to create the shape of it's body. First find an image of the animal of your choice online that shows the animal's entire body from a side-view. Place that image in Illustrator and then choose a font to spell the animal name. Manipulate the type to fit the animal's silhouette and clearly show it's shape. This can be in black and white or in color. Have fun! This should take the entire class period. Do a second one or have two animals interacting if you have extra time. *Note: This can be done at home on paper instead of on the computer.
4. Photoshop animal blending

5. Vector Vs. Raster (file types)
In class students filled out the worksheet shown below learning information about file types. Eventually all students need to fill out the notes as well. I am providing a blank pdf of the sheet- you can print it and copy the notes if you have home access to a printer. If not, you can wait until we return to school. This can be done at home on any computer software or even by hand.
Mini Project: With imagery only (not text) demonstrate the difference between vector and raster images.
